Terms of Use — Vale a Parcela
These terms apply to the use of the Vale a Parcela app, developed by Retomar Labs. By using the app, you agree to them.
1. What the app is
Vale a Parcela is a free, informational calculator. You type the number of installments, the amount of each installment and, if you know it, the cash price; the app shows how much more you pay in installments and the equivalent interest rate.
2. Information, not advice
The app shows math and information. It is not financial advice and doesn’t tell you whether you should make a purchase — that decision is always yours. Retomar Labs is not a financial institution and doesn’t offer credit.
3. How the calculation works, and its limits
The rate is calculated with the same method as the Total Effective Cost (CET) defined by Brazil’s Central Bank (CMN Resolution No. 3.517/2007), from the numbers you type, assuming equal monthly installments with the first paid one month after purchase — or on the day of purchase, if you choose “Com entrada” (with a down payment).
Results are estimates. They may differ from the CET of a specific contract, which can include fees, insurance, taxes or different payment dates. Always check the CET stated in the contract or by the store. If a number is typed wrong, the result will be wrong too.
4. Information about consumer rights
When the app mentions Brazil’s Consumer Defense Code (for example, the right to know the cash price in financed sales, under Art. 52), this is general information, not legal advice. If you have a question or a problem with a store, contact your city’s Procon or a lawyer.
5. Using the app
The app is free and you may use it freely for personal purposes. It is provided “as is”: we do our best for it to work well and calculate correctly, but we don’t guarantee it will always be error-free.
6. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Retomar Labs is not responsible for purchase or financial decisions made based on the app’s results. Nothing in these terms limits the rights guaranteed to you by Brazil’s Consumer Defense Code.
7. Changes
We may update the app and these terms. The version in effect will always be on this page, with its effective date.
8. Governing law and forum
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA. For users residing in Brazil, the Consumer Defense Code (Law No. 8.078/1990) applies, and any disputes may be resolved in the courts of the consumer’s place of residence.
