About Retomar

Retomar is Portuguese for to take back. To take back control, clarity and peace of mind from systems that seem designed to confuse.

Retomar Labs builds radically simple tools for people dealing with systems that weren’t built for them: installment pricing, bills, fine print. Each tool does one thing, and does it well.

How we build

• Simple first. One task per screen, without piles of buttons, pop-ups or distractions.
• Your data is yours. We don’t sell your data. Whenever possible, nothing leaves your phone. Vale a Parcela, for example, doesn’t even connect to the internet.
• Information, not advice. We show the math and your rights clearly. The decision is always yours.

Who’s behind it

My name is Andrew. I’m a product manager, and I’ve spent my career listening to users and working to make technology serve people, not the other way around.

Working across many countries, I fell in love with Brazil: the food, the music, the warmth of the people. I also saw up close how hidden interest, late fees and bureaucracy weigh on people who work hard.

Retomar is my way of helping: small, honest tools that are easy to use. They won’t fix everything, but they can give a little control back to the people who need it.
